Need For Speed Most Wanted

I waz attracted to Need For Speed franchise for the first time when I played NFS II. The later versions of NFS failed to attract me as there were better gamez such as Midtown Madness and Eidos Interactive Formula One Racing.

When NFS Underground 2 came, it revolutionized the racing games. Glamorous racing world, tuners instead of exotics and oh so beautifully customizing your cars visually. In fact, I still find it hard to believe that when my friend uninstalled Underground 2 to make way for the legendary NFS Most Wanted, I hated everything about it. Daytime, no glamor at all, no drifting, no other racers in free roam etc, etc.

When at my friend's request I played Most Wanted for first time, my devotion for Underground 2 turned out to be a joke. I loved pursuits more than races. My dream to running through swarms of cops since Midtown Madness came true.

After Most Wanted, came Carbon. God, it stinked so much. Canyon Drifts and Duels failed to save the game. Drifts were no better than Underground 2. Duels were a joke as I always overtook opponents within 20 seconds of start and won by leading for another 10 sec.

Then came Prostreet. I will just assume that NFS never launched Prostreet. End of discussion.

Then NFS bosses promised that Undercover will bring out the best of NFS series. I waz so impatiently waiting for it. I had so much expectations for it. I even played it before it waz launched in Europe. And voila, it turned out to be an instant DISASTER.

The physics, I can't believe it. Cars drive like as in 2D gamez. No suspensions. No crash impacts. No toppling over of cops unless you hit them while reversing your car. No high speed feel even at 200+mph (motion blur is not good enough). No feeling of braking and turning (Try Eidos F1 Racing for real braking and steering feel). No AI in cops (Remember that NFS bosses promised higher AI for cops). Undercover is even WORSE than Prostreet. I don't have any idea why other jerks say that it's the best ever NFS! May be I just answered my own question. There are different reasons like, a boy who loves Undercover has not played Most Wanted much (Oh, so that's the reason). Another boy hates pursuits in MW (:o). Another one is a complete idiot. He loves UC's graphics so much that it's the best ever NFS!

Well, since I worship MW so much, I am gonna post a few screen shots (pity that MW doesn't have photo mode and even more pity that it doesn't have replay option. But of course, we know that this limitation is necessary so that everyone can play MW).

Audi TT airborne

BMW M3 E92 and old Honda NSX jumping off the museum roof

That's my fav car

Another shot of my fav Civic

But that doesn't mean that I don't love driving the old BMW

or the legendary Ferrari Enzo

Drifting may be gone in MW but that doesn't stop me from attempting some. Notice how much load the locked up rear wheel is taking in.

luv MW's lambo and

Hummer cops and

the angry chopper.

  2. Hmmm..goes over my head (not entirely though, it's just dat mean machines disinterest me as much as mean men do). i guess this side of urs won't be too interesting for me. i know, i know, u didn't ask me to read it but i was just chceking ur blog. what made me read through the entire post was ur passion for this NFS thing. Like Tagore believed that if you have a lotta passion for something, it can rub off on people around you whether they understand it or not. I like young blood with all its spirit and passion for things.
